Help us raise money for a new Community Boat House in Brentford

The Brentford Community Boat House charitable company limited by guarantee has been formed to build and run a boathouse allowing existing a future community users access to the river Thames at the Ferry Quays site. The objects are: > the promotion of community participation in healthy recreation in particular by the provision of facilities for rowing; and > to provide or assist in the provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age infirmity or disability, financial hardship or social circumstances with the object of improving their conditions of life Benefits to the community The community will benefit from having a new purpose-built Boat House located in close proximity to Brentford town centre. This Boat House will be the base for a number of different user groups. The charity’s main activity is to hold the leasehold of the land that the Boat House operates from, arrange for the Boat House building and organise the use of the facility, and to provide rowing facilities (coaching, boats and structure) for the community – from children through to pensioners and for recreational rowers through to those representing GB or home nations. Please note: the drawing here is an example of what could be built if planning permission is granted. This fundraising is to help get to this next stage and to launch the charitable company.
